This view, taken from a Class 121 "bubble-car" DMU, shows the divergance between the
Great North of Scotland Railway mainline and the
Formartine & Buchan Railway at Dyce Junction. Taken in 1978, the Formartine & Buchan line was single-track (as was the former GNSR mainline), and the station at Dyce was closed.
Dyce station was to be reopened in 1984 but a car park now occupies the route of the Buchan line through the station, the railway to Fraserburgh being closed and lifted in 1979.
