After removal of the passenger services on the
Formartine & Buchan Railway in 1965, the lines into the passenger station at Fraserburgh were lifted. This view in 1979 shows the station buildings which were still extant. The remaining fish sidings can be seen in the far right of the photograph.
After closure of the railway to freight traffic in 1979 the station buildings and platforms were demolished. Today only the former engine shed survives to indicate that a railway once existed in Fraserburgh.
