The abandonded platforms of Maud Junction station in 1979, seen from the cab of a Class 121 DMU. The platforms on the right hand side were for trains to Peterhead, but this section of the line was closed in 1970 and only the Fraserburgh route remainded. Out of sight on the left hand side was the station goods yard, still extant and in use in 1979.

This station has now been excellently restored by Aberdeenshire Council, the building being used for a number of commerical premises and the Maud Railway Museum - well worth a visit.
