Class 26 Locomotive 26025 is pictured at Aberdeen Ferryhill MPD on a works train. The 1987 view also shows a number of Swindon Class 120 Diesel Multiple Units, which had worked Aberdeen - Inverness services from the 1960s to the early 1980s and were sent from Wales with some vehicles being restored to working order whilst others were scrapped.
The blue coaches pictured behind the locomotive were normally situated in Clayhills Carriage sidings and were fitted with boilers for pre-heating carriages.
The locomotive pictured here is now preserved as D5325 and can be found at the
Strathspey Railway.
