A number of scrap diesel multiple units were sent to Ferryhill Depot in 1987, with some being restored to service and some being scrapped. The raised area of land on the left hand side of the picture is the old coaling stage. Surprisingly both the coaling stage siding and these two sidings seen here both survive today, although the Scrap DMU's are long since gone.
