Dinnet Station was situated 4 miles east of Aboyne. The station had the common two-platform arrangement and a signalbox which was used to control the adjacent level crossing. One interesting story involves the British Railways Battery-Railcar, which worked the line from 1958 and once ran out of power at Dinnet!

Today the station building survives in use by the local estate. The platforms survive, but have been overgrown by surrounding trees. The trackbed of the railway from Dinnet to Ballater is a public walk.
