Milltimber Station was opened in 1854 shortly after the rest of the railway had been opened, and served a suburb of Aberdeen
to the west of Culter. It closed in 1937 with the withdrawal of the suburban passenger services to Culter (the traffic having
been lost to bus & tram competition). Today most of the northern platform can be seen, alongwith some of the southern platform.
The station building is derelict & condemned, having been partially extended then abandonded some years ago.
A short distance to the west of Milltimber Station the trackbed is cut by a road which crosses the trackbed. The much-debated
Western Peripheral Route (Aberdeen Bypass) is to cross the trackbed between Murtle & Milltimber - exactly where is not
clear but it is likely that the route of the trackbed will be blocked by the new road.
