Persley (Halt) was opened as an addition to the suburban services introduced in 1897. It was a simple two-platform station with the characteristic GNSR wooden station building in situ on the eastbound (Aberdeen) platform. The building survived closure until the late 1980's, when it was destroyed by fire. No evidence remains at the site today to illustrate the existance of a railway station. The station opened as Persley, renamed Persley Halt on 16th July 1926.
