Por favor, le ruego que done 5 minutos de su
tiempo a una belleza del Ajedrez y de paso reflexionar sobre la veracidad
de la frase de Alekhine.
En muy poco tiempo Usted podrá apreciar
una composición ajedrecística genial. Me refiero a "La retirada
de Napoleón de Moscú". Dicha composición consiste
en plasmar en el Tablero de Ajedrez la trágica retirada del Emperador
francés Napoleón Bonaparte desde Moscú a Paris ocurrida
en el año 1812.
Su autor, el ruso Alexander Petrov (1794-1867),
teórico y compositor además de fuerte Maestro, dejó
para la posteridad una brillante idea que ya cumplió los ¡¡178
años!!. El ilustró en el tablero el acoso a que fue sometido
Napoleón por el ejército ruso en Moscú y que lo obligó
a una retirada hasta la capital francesa.
Las
14 jugadas en que se da mate al Rey negro, Napoleón, son las 14
jornadas que demoró la retirada hasta París.

1.Cd2+ Ra2, 2.Cc3+ Ra3,
3.Cdb1+ Rb4, 4.Ca2+ Rb5, 5.Ca3+ Ra6,
Como una curiosidad adicional y que engrandece
aún más la brillante idea del autor, tenemos que en la jugada
6, sexto día de la batalla, la Dama blanca podía haber matado
al Rey negro con Da8 -cruzando el Río Moscú-. Según
los historiadores, esa fue una posibilidad que tuvo el ejército
ruso de aniquilar al Emperador francés, pero que no fue aprovechada
por sus perseguidores.
