Welcome to my web page. It is all ways under construction and anybody with suggestions please mail me at
christiansturt@gmail.com

This web page is here just to let any interested people know a little bit about me. It uses frames and will look really crap on a browser that does not support frames. I use it mainly as a place to store some photos for viewing by my friends and me. It doesn’t get updated much now as I've reached the storage limit on the account, so I have to delete content to add anything new.

Introduction

I am currently living with my wife in Mytchett, on the Surrey border. I moved to Cambridge in Oct 2003 after finishing my PhD (well my house contract ran out). I was fortunate enough to find a job very close to my home within 2 weeks of submitting my PhD thesis. I spent one year working as a software engineer for a small company in the broadcast video industry. After a year I moved back to Surrey where I now work for a large electronics company in Farnborough.

Home Life

As a child I lived in St. Johns in Woking. Woking is a medium size town in Surrey (SE England) where not much really ever happens. I still try to get back to see my Dad and sister and watch football.

Interests

I like all sports apart from American ones, golf (not really a sport is it?) and tennis. I play a bit of Squash, Cricket and 5/7 a-side football. I'm not that good at any, but enjoy them. I'm also a big fan of watching live sports, especially Woking FC and Surrey County CC. I'll hapilly watch watch any football game (thanks to my Dad I've been to about 70 different FL and NL grounds) and have even been known to watch live Aussie rules or Ice Hocky.

I'm also a fan of Dinghy sailing. I have my own boat (a Seafire Dinghy that can be seen here)

University

OK, Ive left uni now, so I really should remove this section!

I studied Electronic Engineering at University of Surrey and then went on to do a PhD. My thesis title was: Pitch Synchronous Speech Coding Techniques and was published in Feb 2004. So I now get to put Dr Christian Sturt on my business cards.

My Views On Life

Don't be silly I'm an engineer. I am too busy to have views on life.

OK one view. You don't need money to be happy. And If you have too much you can not be totally happy as you've obviously spent time getting it.
