The Crumbling Edifices

The Israelites and a mixed multitude stream out of Egypt. The Prince of Egypt shows them as they pass huge toppled monuments to the glory of Egypt and its gods. [1:22; one hour and twenty-two minutes into the film] It is a devastation far beyond the deaths of the first born, and bespeaks the triumph of the God of Israel over those which the Egyptians worshiped.

Louis Ginzberg, in The Legends of Jews, found numerous sources which told the same story, and he drew from them to create these passages [from Vol.II, p. 367].
