TRAINZ Agent is my own version of Auran's Trainz Download Helper program. It is faster than
fast, does dependency checks for all assets, even for 3rd party maps. It saves CDPs to a folder
of your choice, has a connection event log, a cart for building your download list, auto install,
and more. Come get it. It's free.
Installing TRAINZ Agent:
1. If you are a previous Agent user, uninstall the old version using either the built-in uninstall or Control Panel/Add-Remove programs. The TRAINZAgent folder will remain since it has been modified (sorry, this is the way the Inno installer works).
2. Unzip the downloaded file and click on the setup.exe to install 2.0. Install over top any existing Agent folder.
Agent is written in Visual Basic 6 and should run on most modern systems from Windows 98 on. You will need at least the Microsoft VB6 SP5 runtime files and the Windows Scripting Host installed (both of which you probably already have). Turn off your anti-virus for the install. As always, be sure to virus check any file beforehand.
3. Read the agent_readme.txt file to learn how to use TRAINZ Agent.
4. Several images are included to show you how to drag and drop files into TRAINZ Agent. Be sure to check out the drag and drop graphics included in the zip package.
TRAINZ Agent makes no modifications to your existing Trainz installation or Trainz registry items. Installed assets downloaded by TRAINZ Agent are of course added to the Trainz asset database.
