The abandonded platforms of Maud Junction on the Formartine & Buchan Railway

The Scottish City of Aberdeen and it's neigboring district of Aberdeenshire once boasted a fine network of interconnecting railway lines which for many years formed the basis of travel in the region. Sadly most of these lines were closed in the 1950's & 1960's. "Aberdeen's Railways" contains pictures and information on these once-important lines, from the majestic and well-travelled Deeside Line linking Aberdeen with Ballater to the small, badly planned Inverurie & Oldmeldrum Railway.
