When Aberdeen Ferryhill Motive Power Depot closed in 1987, the main area of the shed was converted for use as a store by a local haulage company. However, the former 2-road repair shop (pictured above) was not used for this purpose and lay derelict. Here the inspection pits and lockers can be seen abandoned.

The repair shop was demolished alongwith the remainder of the shed in 1993.
