Fraserburgh Station was built in 1865 and occupied a spacious site within the town, with a number of freight sidings for
the fish traffic concentrated on the station, and a two-road engine shed situated next to the passenger station, which in
1903 had to cope with the additional traffic generated by the St Combs Branch.
After closure to passengers in 1965 the lines leading into the three platforms were lifted, with the freight traffic remaining
being accommodated on the goods yard situated next to the station. The derelict passenger station and engine shed survived at
least until the end of freight services in 1979, after which the track was lifted.
Today only the two-road engine shed survives to indicate a railway ever served Fraserburgh. The station site has been totally
demolished and used for a new road and industrial units. The trackbed for the branch can be found easily just outside of the
former station site.
