Philorth Halt was built as a private halt for Lord Saltoun, who permitted the railway to cross his land on the condition
that he or a member of his family could have a train call at Philorth if they wished to travel. Philorth only appeared in
the public timetables from June 1926 and closed in 1965 with the withdrawal of passenger services. The single platform survives
in excellent condition alongwith the station building, which has been extended and is now used as a residential building.
