One of only three locations on the Deeside Branch where a passing loop was never provided (Dess & Cambus O'May being the other two locations), Glassel served a scattered community. The station buildings survive, as does the BR Scottish Region Station Nameboard for "Glassel", which was donated recently to the Royal Deeside Railway Preservation Society.

Glassel Station lost its goods services on 15th June 1964
