This was one of the stations on the Great North of Scotland Railway to Inverurie, built when that railway introduced it's Suburban Services between Dyce and Aberdeen Joint (the Deeside Line "Subbies" which were similar in nature were introduced later). The line here used to be double track but it has been singled since the station closed. The former station building has long since been demolished. A viaduct exists at the northern end of the station (towards Dyce) carrying the railway over a stream and road.
