When I went to buy some booze at the local Ralphs the cashier carded me and quized me on the info on my drivers license. That is cool I have never had that happen to me. On Monday I got a package delivered by Fedex. It was leaking and there was a huge wet spot on the package. It smelled like a cleaner. And the Fedex guy let me sign it in with out caring about it. He did not say sorry for the crappy handling so I ripped oppen the package infront of him hoping to scare him. It was just some cleaner that I got a free sample of. I thought it was cool I get delivered a wet package.

If you know ANYONE (some retrictions apply) that has 4 finals on the same day I offer them a bottle of booze, my choice. Get me proof of thier pain and they may have soem sweet sweet booze to drink down thier sorrows. They may only have the booze if the final day has not passed yet. So if they had 4 finals Mon the offer does not apply if the 4 are on Sat it is all ok.

1 down and I made a mess of it since I did not remember one article. Messy. I hope for a B still.

Shenmue 2 :: (9/10) :: This game has sucked the life out of me. I played it for about 8 hours today (split up. not straight). I haven't played a game for 8 hours since who knows how long. CS i think i maxed at 5. starcraft maybe. q2 definetly. And that right there sums it up. Shenmue 2 is awesome. (or it proves just how little there is for me to do)

gfx = awesome. When the x-box one comes out, I'd like to see just how much they improved the gfx. I don't see much room for improvement. The texturing is great. The motion is good enough.

fighting = damnit. Up until about 20 minutes from right this minute, the fighting kicked ass. It was like final fight. Dumb newbies come up to me, I mash them to death with triple punch/kick combos. But the 1 on 1 stuff is harsh. I do 0 damage per hit, then the bitch slaps me and i get dropped a notch. She also has a triple knee to the CROTCH combo that is way no fair. Then she does her super attack and I lose 1/4 life bar?!? bastard. But it's all good. I'm going to kick her ass tommorrow. Dodge, kick, dodge, kick.

QTE = awesome fun. the quicktime events are way cool. Most of them pop up out of nowhere. You'll be in the middle of a cinema, and then "A" all of a sudden pops up on your screen. Then your try to remember if A is the left bottom one or the right bottom one like on the SNES. Of course, by the time you hit it, you've already missed your window of opportunity and you end up smacked on the head with a bat. that = cool. I got hit by a watermelon because I couldn't hit down down a. haha.

Gambling = bastard cheaters. A+B+Y+X+Start = reset

Arcade games = pure fun. disc 4 is entertaining.

black people = stereotypical! wonderful.

environment = the cities of shenmue are huge. and damn cool. You can go from rich area to poor area and really really tell the difference. The type of people walking around, the quality of the buildings, the # of gambling locations, etc. When you cruise through the market places with millions of people walking around, you feel like a little girl trying to sneak from the back to the front row of a nsync concert (what?).

people = other than that they are all WAY TO KIND, NPCs are well done. it's really cool to not see 1 person over here, his twin brother over there, his other twin across town, etc.. like in other games. Sure, you sometimes see the same person, but it's not an all the time occurance (except when you work the Lucky Hit[what?]).
And about being way too kind, nearly everybody you talk to is more than willing to walk you to wherever you want to go. They'll tractor beam Ryo and drag him around.
Robert's tip :: when asking for directions, either a)ask a store owner. they'll tell you where to go, not slowly walk you there. OR b)ask a little kid. Little kids will RUN you over to the location if they know where it's at. Damn ritalin kids. The normal locals walk way too slow. just disconnect from them when they start walking, go in that general direction, and ask somebody else.

Shenmue 2 eats my balls.

Shenmue 2 (8/10) :: The game is pretty good. It's not perfect. it doesn't make me want to play right now, but it's a good time burner. This is the first game ever that actually makes me work for my money and not just beat up people and pick up their wallets. In a way, that sucks, but it's also pretty entertaining. Like if you do something wrong (DON'T PUSH A), you can have the entire rest of the day to sit around waiting, gambling, working, whatever. it's amazing how i make -$ gambling, but youtea magically can make triple digits. bastard dc doesn't like me.

Trickstyle (5/10) :: helllo??? i pushed the button?? do the 360 now please? not 5 minutes later when i'm flying straight into a wall. bastards.

Gauntlet Legends (6.5/10) :: Uh. i hold down the button. things die.

NFL Blitz 2001 (7/10) :: worse than it's predecessor. the music = suck. the gfx = weird.

Plasma Sword (5/10) :: mediocre 2d/3d fighter.

Soul Calibur (7.5/10) :: fun. But not super fun. I could waste an hour a day button mashing it, but i choose not to.

Mortal Kombat Gold (7/10) :: it's mk4. not great. not sucky. just mortal kombat in 2d/3d.

Hydro Thunder (7/10) :: fucking hard. 2 player mode sucks since it's 1 on 1 and they dickslap the gfx. 1 player is better because it's a 16 man race and the gfx are boosted. but otherwise a straight arcade port.

there are like 20 more games that I've downloaded, played, and forgot about over the last couple months. too bad.

In basketball news :: The truth is out. Of all the people in the world, I am in the top 3 billion in terms of basketball skill. You may be thinking that I'm stretching the truth, but I am willing to prove it. Go round up all 5billion people in the world, and I guarentee you I will beat at least 2 billion of them. 8:30AM meetings? Wha? Crazy bastard and next meeting will be in afternoon given our scheduals or way early in the morn. I quit after this Q when I messed with my share of minds. i can nto take this after all I am not going to grad school.

It's not that bad. just really really not good.

we lost 12 out of 80 points on our 160 project so far. (the rest 20 go to documentation). jesus christ. I thought we would grab perfection. But it was the little things holding us down.

more specifically concurrency issues that we weren't ready for. It's not like it didn't cross our minds, it's just that we never thought they'd even bother doing that. Like I spent an hour or 2 fixing the 0000 error. But he never tried it. But he did try a No Amenities reservation. And of course, it doesn't work. That's my fault. 1 point lost all to me because I fixed that to work correctly (if i left it working wrong, he probably would never have noticed, and we'd get that point back).

But that's still 11 points lost. (a 4/7, 4/7, 4/7, 5/7) Ugh. from concurrency. Like somebody checking in to a room that's already been checked out of. Or the room service issue. or the other issue. f bomb. damn. Those are all minor issues too. We can fix those within minutes. just throw another loop in there. argh. monkey butts.

man. this is going to haunt me for the rest of my life. We thought we were done on Satuday. We had all of sunday and monday and tuesday to implement that. But we didn't. That's 3 days that we could've easily put together all the minor booboo checking. dang nabbit.

And i thought i was worthy of a god ranking. I am still a mere mortal.

Lab sucks
Tuesday. Problem 1. Nothing works. We end up wasting 1/2 the lab period waiting for the TA and then another 1/2 hour before the TA decides to just switch the button pushing portion of our board. cool. thanks. The rest of the lab period we try to get part 1 to work like it did last week. nope. lab over. go home.

Thursday. Problem 1. I get to lab and notice they switched the R36100 board with a new one (our old one was dusty and had a chip 1/2 loose) At first I'm thinking that it's good. Maybe some of the problems we had last time will go away.

And then I realize the horror. I start up hyper terminal and try to send a file to the board through ethernet. NO GO. shit. shit. i restart everything. I try again. no go. shit. So i try a serial send. Works. fuck. ethernet = gone. What's this mean? well, everytime you want to test your code, you have to send it to the board. If you've ever programmed in your life, you know that before you get an program to work perfectly, you have to recompile and test it a half million times. An ethernet send to the board :: 6 seconds. A Serial send to the board :: 72 seconds. That's more than a minute difference. Multiply that by a million, and you get how much time we waste waiting for the code to send. ugh.

Problem 2. Our part 1 still isn't working. (it worked last week) WE test our board and we get no sysclk. great. I try to think of all posible ways we could be losing sysclk. oh wait, there isn't a way. There is no fucking way i could've written code to destory sysclk. So we sit there. And then I start screwing with the board because there's nothing else I can do. I touch one of the Ls275 chips and remark that they're fucking burning. My lab partner touches it. Looks at it. Touches it again. AND THEN PUSHES IT ALL THE WAY IN. Sabotage :: Somebody half loosened all the chips on the board. My partner pushes all the damn chips in, and we finally get a fucking sysclk.

Problem 3. Still not working. We check more lines. Our A19 is always low. It should be high on reads AND writes. ugh. I start screwing with the board again. I pull out the connector cable and notice that we've been screwed again. The pin connector on our cable for A19 was broken off. fucking bastards. We get a new cable.

AND THE FUCKING PART 1 FINALLY FUCKING WORKS AGAIN. oh wait, it's already 9pm. lab ends at 10pm. faggots. 20/55. not bad. bastardized to the fullest.

I'm at the point where I just want to pass. Passing would be good.

I hate writing papers where you have to cite works. It means less slacking can be involved since you kinda have to kjnow your subject at hand.

I however did not listen and still slack. I hate papers there days. I want more free writing and stuff. Blah whatever.

I had all the time in the world to read my books but I never did. That boring or that lazy? YOU DECIDE as viewers of my page.

I want to write a crtical short essay to a ta that is not mine but I have no way to send her the writign since I do not know her addy. Oh well.

My head hurts now the back of my head has pains. Really bugging me now. At least I am not dizzy and throwing up like last week. It seems physical problems have really got me recently, sprained ankel, couching, cold, dizziness, headaches, stomachaches abd general tiredness. No way to live college. And to think I am not on drugs. Most people need to spend money to feel the way i do but not me. I am special.

read roosh. I'm not easily motivated (to do anything. including eating), but maybe some of you are.

I would have my friends over to hang out and we would order like 2 or 3 large pizzas. Usually the pizzas would be like 8 bucks each but we would lie and say something like "oh i almost forgot, i got a coupon here it says two larges for 10.99". And they would accept it, and they delivery guy would rarely ask for the coupon. In the event he would, the guy who's ever house it was would like walk around everywhere to seem like he was looking for the coupon and the guy would finally get sick of waiting and say just forget about it.

Did you know that unix was created by the devil? In today's times of point and click configuration guis, configuring a server through the command line is like starting a fire with 2 wet sticks.

(and yes, I know there are config guis (like for mysql) that you can download, but I like being ignorant)

The hardest part of this project? IT HAS TO BE configuring the pieces of the server. The actual coding and forms and sql should be a piece of cake compared to all this bash setenv $classpath mysql.sock crap I'm throwing around.

server configuration complete. I am ownage. Watch it not work tommorrow. I also said to myself that if I did get the server working by tonight, that I'd buy that computer. haha. broken promise to myself

you know that rant down below about aol/icq? it's completely and totally wrong. I apologize about my lack of research. The newest version of Miranda comes with a little warning about my problem. Turns out an old version of Miranda was not setting the "Read" flag on the messages. So instead of actually getting old msgs from icq's servers, I was actually just re-pulling msgs from my database. genie.

Anyway, Grab the newest version of Miranda and these wabut approved plugins::
ChangeInfo : Change your icq info
Historyplus : makes your history easy to read/navigate/search
Miette : old school miranda msging format. No font changing ability like in the new built in msging system, but less clutter.
Newstatusnotify : does the MSN like popping up in the bottom right corner of your desktop when users come online/switch status. Useful for those of us who can't do double audio and hate that user is online icon popping up on top of any incoming msgs.
pop3notifyex : check yo email
lastseenplugin : marks the last time a user came online. Useful for stalking.

and yes, it is as fast as it has always been. The 3984905804 msgs was slowing it down considerably.
