DARLING JONES TO HIS CHILDREN
Know all men by these presents that I Darling Jones of the County of Washington and Stae of Tennessee for the Natural love and affection that I have for Abraham Rader, Calvin Rader, Manuel G. Rader and Pleasant Rader my reputed children and Henry Jones my lawful heir all of the County of Washington and State of Tennessee for the natural love and affection I have for said children and also for the consideration of duly maintenance by them the said Abraham Rader, Calvin (Cabum) Rader, Manuel G. Rader, Pleasant Rader and Henry Jones, doth give grant alien convey & confirm unto them the said Abraham Rader, calvin (Cabum Rader, Manuel G Rader, Pleasant Rader and Henry Jones unto them their heirs or assigns a certain piece of parcel or tract of land situated lying and being in the county of washington and State of Tennessee joining lands of William Nelson, Sen., Adam Rader, Dec’d, Joseph Young, Esq. Bounded as follows to Wit Beginning at a Chesnut and running south eight five degrees west seventy eight poles to a white oak. thence north twenty eight poles to a black Oak and Sara Nelsons line. Thence west seventy two poles to a white oak. Thence South one hundred & Sixty seven poles to a large White Oak. Thence East two hundred and twenty poles to a Stake Thence a Chesnut Thence North Eight one poles to a White Oak Thence East thiry four poles to a Stake Thence North to the Beginning TO HAVE & TO HOLD use and enjoy the said piece parcel or tract of land with all ways woods waters water cources mines mine houses, orchards, herriditaments and appurturances and 11 other benefits and advantages whatsoever to the said land belonging or in any wise appertaining an dall the estate right title Interest use property reversion - Remainder claim or demand of him the said Darling Jones of in and to the same or any part or parcel thereof to have and to hold the said piece parcel or tract of land and every of its appurtenances unto him the said Abrahm Rader, Cebum Rader, Manual G. Rader, Pleasant Rader and Henry Jones unto them their heirs and assigns forever and to no other use interest and purpose whatever and the said Darling Jones himself for his heirs Executors and administrators Shall and will forever warrant and Defend the said land and premises given granted bargained and conveyed in office and confirmed in fee simple unto them the said Abrahm Rader, Cebum Rader, Manual G. Rader, Pleasant Rader and Henry Jones unto them their heirs and assigns agains the Claim or Claims of all and every person or persons Claiming by or under him the said Darling Jones and them the said Abrahm Rader, Cebum Rader, Manual G. Rader, Pleasant Rader and Henry Jones is to have and to hold use and ocupy possess and enjoy the said land & premises without the lawfull suite trouble demand - Moestation or disturbance of him the said Darling Jones his the Natural love and affection and also as well for any maintenance during the natural life of them their heirs or assigns executors or administrators I do freely willingly give grant convey Enouef of the confirm the said Land with the above named children their heirs or assigns In testimony whereof I Darling Jones have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this day in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & Seventeen.

NOTE: At no time in his life, Darling Jones admitted to being the father
of the Rader Boys. As these were the children he had been accused of being the father, he did what he thought was right by deeding some of his land to them. Why he only included one of his sons, Henry Jones and no the other son, William B Jones is unknown.
