NOTE: John W Ruble was b. 8/8/1791 in Washington Co. TN. His paretns were John E and Martha Ruble. They lived on Nobb Creek. On May 28, 1820 he married Catherine Kuhn, d/o of Katherine Katherine Kuhn. They moved to Gren Co. TN in 1830. He died there on 11/12/1863. Catherine was b. in 1788 in PA and d. 5/28/1858 in Green Co. TN. They were buried on their farm and are said to have been the first couple buried in what is now known as the PRICE Cemetery.

John W Ruble was a cabinet maker by trade and said he could make anything out of wood, iron or leather. He was also a veterinarian. Some of the veterinary tools he made and used and a few pieces of furniture that he made are treasured keepsakes of his decendants.

When catherine died in 1858, John soon went looking for another wife. He found a willing candidate "Mary (Molly) Hughes." It is said that her answer was "When?" to his proposal of marriage. It may be added that at that time she was considered an "old maid."
