Becky and Pat
Becky and Pat are having a baby.
He will be loved, this is no maybe.
He’ll be nurtured, cuddled and carefully fed
And have sweet baby dreams in his wee baby bed.
Daddy will teach him to hunt and to fish
And Mommy will cure all his “boos” with a kiss.
They’ll love him and teach him what’s wrong and what’sright
And make him feel safe, through each day and night.
As he grows older, they will grow too
Having a baby just does that to you.
Each baby’s unique, just like no other
Each one is special to a father and mother.
To Mommy and Daddy
Hi! I’m your new baby.
Here’s what you’ll need for me;
A cradle and stroller, bottles and diapers
Blankets, booties, sleepers and wipers
Rattles, blocks, teddybears, balls
Cute little pictures to hang on the walls
A small baby bath and washcloths galore
A swing and a rocker to set on the floor
Cute little outfits to wear and be warm
A mommy and daddy to keep me from harm.
Some are essentials, some just for fun.
In return for all that I’ll bring warmth, like the sun.
I’ll coo and I’ll gurgle and make funny faces.
I’ll pull off my shoes and chew on the laces.
I’ll eat and I’ll sleep, I’ll grow older and older.
I’ll play and make messes, get bolder and bolder.
Everything is so new, so much to explore.
There’s an exciting new world just beyond every door.
I’ll need lots of love and care, this is true
From Mommy and Daddy, and Grandparents too.
Ann Is Getting Married
He couldn’t say the “M” word.
He could barely breathe out “Wife”.
The meaning is the same though
He wants you to share his life.
So, we’re happy for you Ann dear.
You’ll be a lovely bride,
For all the rest of all your days
You’ll be a Schoeff with pride.
