A poem by Rae Ann Crabtree
The ancient Ones
Father Adam and Mother Eve
Who lived in Paradise
Completely sin free

Were ran out
By God's own hand
Because of Eve's thirst
To understand
Life cycles
And answers
Plants and stars
Birds and creatures

Why were they here
And where would they hide
After HIS wrath
When Eden died

Eve found out
And Adam so followed
The hard facts of life
Were hard to swallow

We would have been forgotten
Were it not for mother Eve
The fruit and the Serpent
On the good and evil tree

So did she sin
When took that bite
No, Eve understood
And had the foresight

To give up her Eden
For you and for me
As she suffered child birth
To raise a huge family

Father Adam
Mother Eve
Who taught their children
In Christ to believe

Some were good
And some  were bad
But the Ancient Ones
Gave all they had

To their children
For five hundred years
Good times and bad times
Smiles and tears

They showed us something
Special and true
About how people
Can be honest or crude

But if we learn
What the Ancient Ones taught
We would be near perfect
In what we sought

That is of course
The gospel truth
And the real story behind
Eve and the fruit!
