And the buzzer goes! Blue takes it 9-7 in DM13 against defending champ and top seed Fatality! He is the CPL Asia champion!! It was a nail biting match with great exchange and unpredictable moments!!
Blue loses to Fatality in DM6 but makes a comeback in DM13, refusing to spawn at the very end of the game and wraps up whatever's worth watching in CPL Asia.

Yes folks, in 5 minutes Fatality will be fighting Blue. Just watched all the major demos and Fat's looking real solid, with high rail efficiency. GL blue and fat!
In CS, one of Malaysia's representatives, NBTD have made it to the finals. I'm not sure if it's team 1 or team 2, but gl to them. I hear it's prolly team 2, that means it's Stryker_X and gang, or rather, the old SubZero clan. Mad props for doing well! I'd like to take this opportunity to say hi to WannabeHero you gonna be one real soon. =)

THE FINALS ARE SET FOR FATALITY vs BLUE
Fat just took down Xenon 23-5 in T2, and now faces Blue. Fat will have to win twice to be champ; an underdog position that he's not used to being put into recently. The last time this situation occured was at FRAG3 vs wombat where he lost.

2:30 PM Carnage VS. Promise on the T4 map ( PROMISE woops ass with a 33 to 15 win )
2:30 PM Doomer VS. Sujoy on the DM6 map ( DOOMER cracks down winning with 29 to 14 )
3:00PM Xenon VS. Fatality .....coming up on the T2 map! ( NO SCORE YET )
So it's gonna be a Blue vs Fat finals now, Fat has to win 2 rounds vs Blue (I'm going all the way out and assuming there'll be no Xenon-Fat upset). While I'm at it oh heck here's my prediction:

Okay I just woke up and here's the skinny... we're into the final day of AA1, and the biggest news so far is Fatality being upset by s21.0, a Korean player, 13-8 in Q3DM13.
[BL]Shearer, the Singaporean who upset Hakeem earlier was put into the losers bracket by DOOMer who's really looking solid this event, 13-5. Shearer will now face country-mate Carnage in the next round.
There's also news from the Backroom page that s21.0 just lost his match to Xenon in T2, 18-10.
Blue has also lost to "Tank Sr" DOOMer 10-8 on DM6.
One of our top players, [BL] Cantona, lost to [HoK] Promise in a very tight match. [BL] Cantona had climbed up a losing streak to 12 v 12 @ 14:30. [HoK] Promise finished off [BL] Cantona in the last 5 seconds of the match and won it 13-12.
At 12:15 [BL]Buzz played Fatality on Q3DM13. It was a losing battle from the start, and there came a point when [BL]Buzz seemed to give up and started doing weird things (Like standing in the middle of no where, making (very) silly comments) Wanna find out what he said ? Just before I turn in for the night, Fly's finally updated Backroom's homepage as promised earlier, when I managed to catch Otakon, Whirizm, Raptor and Fly on irc. They all agree the standards we have locally are quite incomparable to the big guns out there, so thank you self-delusion you may leave now.

That beetch KeiL is spending his time homeying up to Sujoy while Uncle Raptor is studying under Blue and snapping pics with Fatality (since the booth babes won't indulge him heh).

ps - oh yeah in the CS half, the two NBTD teams are doing pretty well I heard, and still very much in. However, LilHamster seems to have lost his passport and half the sponsored cash. Fortunately Stryker_X of team 2 kept the other half safe and warm.

Well here we are. No major upsets so far (unless you consider Hakeem's plight, and possibly wiseguy) - the top seeds are proving why they're top seeds and some of the locals are strutting their stuff.
Coverage has been terrible at best - we're still in the dark and hopefully there'll be something up soon in Epicenter or at least the Atomic Arena page. Someone on IRC reported demos will soon be available here, but I see no sign. There's some related news at Cached's, check it out - better than nothing.

Right... so the we're right now in the last 32. From Backroom all that's left are Whirizm (lost to "like Tank snr" DOOMER) and Otakon (lost to Sujoy by 7 frags), and Guiz (to a Korean), all in the losers bracket. Cantona, Shearer and Carnage from Singapore are also all in the losers bracket at this point. Everyone was knocked in there by the autoberths (woo). Some of the local boys practiced with Fat and gang. I'm being told not to post or quote in case of misunderstandings, so I guess this is all for now. One of our top local players was caught commenting that Fatality was "too good". Phew.
Backroom might also be playing Clan 9 tomorrow. Ain't that sweet? Okay then, good night.

Unconfirmed reports have it that carnage and cantona have both lost their matches... to whom I have no clue.
The Atomic Arena has the worst coverage ever and I'm not getting anything from the livecast (it's done for the moment) and even the official IRC channels are populated with only the clueless. The "official sites" are all having a severe lack of information, and everyone is complaining so hard packets are falling off the superhighway. =(

I wouldn't call it an upset - it's getting consistent. Hakeem just lost to [BL]Shearer - that's our hero from Singapore's Clan Blood. 14-10, Q3DM6. Wassup with Hakeem? He's now in the loser's bracket. I hope he doesn't do the, "I didn't bother to practice" thing again.

CS sucks and CS will continue sucking it down - in competitive play anyway. Beta 6.5 is out and Malaysians aren't too happy with it. There's a cheat with the handguns already. And for the CPL I wonder how the organizers are gonna handle a double-win bug exploit.

Right... finally Epicenter's been updated with the latest coverage and results. Among the highlights you might be interested in is Fatality's through his first round of 1 vs 1, disposing Singaporean Kamikaze 51 to -1. Backroomers whir, otakon, fly and m0nkey are through (yay), with m0nkey having to defeat his own clanmate young and whirizm Warzone's PlatinumX. Of the Blacklabels, DiademZ has made it into the next match while Anthracite has fallen. My personal favourite Guitarman has also stomped through his opponent, as have Carnage and forsaken, Singapore's top Quakers. Other notables who have gone past the initial matches include DOOMer and Xenon of Clan 9. One trend here is the really great players (everyone's favourites) show why they're good - to the extent to putting their opponents in the negs. Check out the brackets.
News is pretty slow in coming and people are getting impatient. I'm updating this while learning Win NT Core Tech because our beetch KeiL is off wanking or something. I think he was just ousted from the tourney, it sez here

Clan Eclipse's Slade (and also one time PGL finalist for C&C:RA) can be found airing some of his views here on Cached.net. Check it out now for some comments on AA1 from a more local viewpoint. Some of the information, though, are a little inaccurate (like a reference he made to the old SkySurf tourney).

e-Slade:Whirizm, Otakon and Monkey are from the same clan (Backroom (bkrm.cjb.net)) They won the SkySurf tournament (Malaysia open) frag fest. They have been playing since Quake 1. They represented Malaysia to go to Singapore to challenge the Singapore's Best clan, ED, but it was quake1 and quake2 that time. I am not sure how well will the q3 guys do because the community here is OF COZ far behind Koreans and US and Europe. I don't think they have had the exposure :(. However, they do know of the international community.
