Voodoo 5 6000 gone?

Yes it is true. The ultimate graphics card from 3Dfx will not be out for consumers. This card which can actually compete head on with a Geforce 2 Ultra which will be coming out soon seemed to have a bright future even though it might be too expensive for gamers, I am talking about 600 US dollars which in turn come to around above RM2000. Talk about expensive but worthwhile. The card can run Quake III in 32 bit colour at a 1600x1200 resolution and still having a fps of 60+. Talk about sheer power. Well we shall see of the outcome of 3Dfx. Check out the full story here.

well no doubt that ff6 and ff tactics ( which is saw is out for the PC just today ) is the best ff games of all time
next to it is chrono trigger and seiken densetsu 3
so check them out :D

Hmmm... i'm still stuck in ff5, wish it would just finish so that i can go play ff6 (and chrono trigger). I've heard nothing but good things about ff6.
My main problem with ff8 was the characters. Despite going full-sized and all that FMV, they seemed a lot less real and believable than the older super-deformed characters. For a lead character, Squall was a total arsehead, and while Cloud started out the same way, at least Cloud was a lot more redeeming of himself (and heroic despite his past, like a true lead character should be) by the end of the game. Cecil in ff4 was naive, but the way the first parts of ff4 had him dealing with the dark sources of his power made him very fleshed out, 16-bit graphics and all. I only loaded up ff4 for a few laughs and didn't expect to spend more than an hour on it, but dammit the plot just wouldn't go.
I think ff7 turned out pretty good, despite the threat of the graphics overshadowing everything else, when it first came out. It probably didn't matter to me when i played it anyway, since it was the first ff i played.
The point the guy made about the skin texture used in ff8 fmv's was spot on. The mo-cap was great, but in some parts the shiny skin made the characters look like mannequins. Square has improved on that alot, judging from the FF movie trailers, and that probably has trickled down to ff9.
fuck i'm this close to breaking down and buying a psx now. Stupid PC ports.

dammit for a moment there i was ready to gush in a mini comment-review but nevermind, i'll try to summarize it.
i've only played 3 FF games so far before IX, that would be VI, VII and VIII.
VI was and still remains the definitive game of the series, it had all the charm it could've mustered.
looking back, was i the only one who thought that VII was a good idea gone wrong ? it still had the basic FF charm underneath those huge cosmetic changes.
VIII was a bit of a let down for me .. the drawing,the unlimited summoning killed most of the fun there.
anyway, IX represents what the FF series is REALLY about. everything good about those earlier three games bundled in a single game. woo.

yeah the download rate is pants, i'm only getting 1 - 2kbps. NBCI needs a login tho and tends to have problems of not letting you download at all.
So IX's better than VIII? I thought VIII could have been better, yes, even taking into account that i only played the PC version.

i-drive kinda sucks, i get way better speed off sharehouse.nbci.com plus the interface doesn't suck as much as i-drive's does
napster forever ! heh
i've stopped playing FFIX under orders from the almighty one to wait for the retail version pirated cd, fuck that game fuckin owns. shame the music doesn't really stick.
