12. SPAIN - Aprendiz
Malu was born 17 years ago in Madrid. She is the daughter of Pepe de Lucia, one of the most popular guitarists and flamenco pop composers. Malu started studying music at the age of 13, and three years later she released her first album "Aprendiz" (Learner), which became a very big hit in Spain. She also sang the Spanish version of Walt Disney's soundtrack Mulan.
The composer of the Spanish entry is Alejandro Sanz, one of the most popular and famous singers in Spain.
The Spanish Selection took place on 15th July with 18 entries. It was very exciting, because Malu won by only one point to Sergio Dalma who came second. Other Eurovision singers in the Spanish Selection were Azucar Moreno and Lydia.
