The OGAE Song Contest 1999 was co-organized by OGAE Greece and OGAE Germany. The Greek club took care of the pre-hearing compilation of all the songs and the international programme-booklet. The pre-hearing compilation was put on a double CD and along with the programme-booklet was sent to the clubs taking part in the contest. The German club did the German programme-booklet and hosted the final show with the support of the Institute for Journalism and Communications Research Hannover. The contest took place in Hannover, in December 18th, 1999 and was broadcast via the internet with the help of the Eurovision Radio website.
1. Jardin De Lumiere
Leyla Doriane is the winner of the OGAE Song Contest 1999. Leyla represented France with the song "Jardin De Lumiere" (Garden of Light), a composition of L. Cox, C. Battaglia and C. Tarquiny. This CD is due to be released this fall, following a second single. "Jardin de lumiere" was chosen among 40 French songs, after a 3-round procedure.
Leyla won the OGAE Song Contest 1999 by a clear victory, receiving 169 points, 42 points in front of the second, Marjorie (Finland).
