Pearl E. White & The Tooth Fairy Castle
Hi! My name is Pearl E. White, and
this is my home. Did you know it’s a castle? And guess what?
It even has a dungeon here too, but don’t worry – the only thing that we
keep down there are bad teeth. You know like cavities and stuff?
So as long as you brush your teeth, not even your teeth would ever see
that old place.
Have you ever been in a castle before?
I love this one! Do you know what my castle is called? It’s
the Tooth Fairy Castle! You want to know why? Ok, I'll tell
you! Its because the Tooth Fairies live here too! It’s kind
of a secret, but I know you won't tell anyone.
This old castle has been here for a very
long time. Long before I was ever born. My Mom was born here,
and her Mom before her too, so I know all about this wonderful place.
Would like to learn about my home? The Tooth Fairy Castle?
I see you nodding your head. Ok, I'll
tell you the story on how Tooth Fairy Castle came to be… it began hundreds
of years ago, and went something like this…
Pearl, (this is another Pearl E. White.
She was my great great great great great Grandmother), was eating her sweet
bread when her tooth began to really hurt. Pearl cried so her mother
picked her up, sat her on her lap and said, “Little Pearl, what's wrong
child?” She answered, “My tooth, it really hurts, Momma.”
Pearl’s Momma tried hard to make her feel
better, but couldn’t make Pearl’s tooth stop hurting. Worried, Pearl’s
Momma made a wish asking for help from the magical spirits she knew visited
the castle from time to time.
Soon Pearl drifted off to sleep, but her
Momma didn’t, she was too worried about Pearl. In the wee hours of
the night, Pearl’s Momma saw a tiny spark of light appear. The light
was so pretty! So many different colors in such a tiny light!
She watched it, being real quiet.
It started flying around the room, then
stopped!
It just hung in mid air over Pearl!
Pearl’s Momma stood, walked over and said
to the tiny light, “Spirit, have you come to help my little Pearl?”
Then the light glowed brighter until it burst into a bright flash!
When the flash was gone, a Fairy stood there!
The Fairy was so beautiful! And
she had a real high voice when she talked. She said, “Yes, but I
am not a spirit, I am a Tooth Fairy. I am sorry I took so long to
come but my family and I have no home, so we must travel so far without
rest. The reason Pearl’s tooth hurts is she hasn’t been brushing,
and now the tooth is sick. I can make it better, but you must have
her brush with this.”
The fairy handed a small piece of wood
with thistles on it. You know what it was? The very first TOOTH
BRUSH!
Peal’s Momma stared at it curiously, but
agreed. The Tooth Fairy was very happy about this, and then she touched
Pearl’s face. “Pearl will not hurt anymore from her tooth, but understand
that I cannot do this again. She must learn to use the brush I gave
you. I will return each time Pearl looses a baby tooth. I use
the baby teeth to make my magic so I can help other children, just have
her leave it under her pillow and I will know.”
Well, Pearl’s Momma was so happy that
little Pearl wouldn’t hurt anymore from the mean tooth, she made the Fairy
an offer… “Tooth Fairy, you say you have no home? Well, you do now.
This castle has been the home of my family since the beginning of time
almost, now it is yours to share with us always! You helped my little
Pearl and this would truly please me. Would you accept this as your
home? For all Tooth Fairies?”
The Tooth Fairy thought about it and then
she smiled a brilliant smile. She said, “Thank you, Dear Woman! Yes!
This would be wonderful! All of my sister and brother Fairies will
be so pleased! But there is one thing we must agree on. Payment
for living here.”
Pearl’s Momma shook her head and said.
“No, I do not want payment. You have helped my little Pearl, that
is all the payment I will ever need.”
The fairy thought about it, she thought
real hard, and then she smiled again. “I have it! Since you
will not take payment, we will pay for each baby tooth we collect.
And if the teeth are healthy and white, we will pay extra! This will
help the children to care about there teeth, and then they won’t hurt like
little Pearl did.”
Pearl’s Momma and the Tooth Fairy agreed
and the Tooth Fairies moved in. They have been here ever since, teaching
us about taking care of our teeth and collecting baby teeth to make their
magic. So always remember to keep your teeth healthy and when you
loose a tooth, put it under your pillow and the Tooth Fairy will come visit
you!
Well, I have to go, my Mom says its time
for bed and I have to brush my teeth first!
Bye!
