From the moment the idea of moving to Nashville was brought up to the family in their hometown of Belleville, Ontario Canada in the fall of '96, the family knew what was to be their way. Despite a brief moment of fear in father Steve, the support of the entire family moved the Wilkinsons to Nashville on September 15th of 1997.

It hadn't been much longer than two weeks when the singing trio decided to see a friend at The Broken Spoke and were asked to sing a few songs. In the time it took the weekend to run its course from that Friday to the following Monday, the Wilkinsons were the hot topic around the city. A phone call rang through the household that Monday and Tyler picked it up to discover it was a record label. What none of them could have known or dreamed of was that they would soon be the center of a seven-label bidding war that left the family with more choices than they knew what to do with.

The decision was made to sign a deal with the label that best fit their thinking and personas--Giant Records. In just under a year, they had put out their first attempt at big-business country music with their debut album Nothing But Love. The beautiful harmonies that could only be weaved by such a close-knit family combined with the the soulful and heart-felt lyrics to catapult their first release, "26¢", to the highest debut position in country music history.

The Wilkinsons worked hard after that, touring with their new CD and as always, working on new songs and ideas to be compiled into another album which would be perfectly entitled Here and Now. With the full completion of young Tyler's voice change (which is still a sensative subject it appears), the family thrust the young man not unwillingly into the spotlight. The continued harmonic perfection and intensity with which the group performed has shot the album's first single, Jimmy's Got a Girlfriend, high onto the Billboard Country music charts and high into the GAC video charts. With the high-energy song being only one of the many superb songs on the new album, the Wilkinsons can be assured of success to come.

But their fame has not come without some debate as to whether or not the Wilkinsons, as with many other newer acts, are truly "country", pop, both, or maybe none of the above. The answer is so bluntly simple. They are not pop. They are not country. They are The Wilkinsons.
